At Green Print Collective, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We’re committed to making fashion that not only looks great but also respects the planet, its people, and its resources. From the materials we choose to how we produce and package our garments, we ensure every step of our process is as eco-friendly as possible. Here's how we make it happen:
We believe that sustainable fashion starts with the fabric. That’s why we carefully source materials that minimise our footprint while ensuring comfort and high quality.
We only use natural fibres, like GOTS certified organic cotton and hemp without harmful chemicals or pesticides, preserving soil health and water quality. Organic farming also promotes biodiversity and supports farmers through safer working conditions.
Also, we decided to incorporate recycled fibres into our collections, like recycled denim used in our overalls, made of denim waste and off cuts, giving new life to existing materials and reduce textile waste. Our recycled fabrics are durable, soft, and eco-conscious, helping us close the loop on fashion waste.
To bring our bold, playful designs to life, we screen print all our fabrics in house. This not only allows us to maintain the highest quality but also to reduce our environmental footprint.
Our designs are printed using water-based inks that are free from harmful chemicals. These inks are safer for us, the environment, and our customers, ensuring our colourful patterns are as gentle as they are vibrant.
We also produce in small batches to ensure every design resonates with our community. Before printing hundreds of meters of fabric, we first test our prints with you in every collection. We gather your feedback and only keep your favourite designs, allowing us to fine-tune each piece. This thoughtful approach means we can continue offering your favourite prints for as long as they’re loved, giving them a chance to live on and become timeless staples.
Our screen printing process is designed to minimise water use and fabric waste. By managing our resources carefully, we promote a more sustainable approach to production.
We’re committed to responsible production methods that reduce waste, conserve energy, and minimise our overall environmental footprint.
We believe in our community, that's why we manufacture all our garments here in Australia. By keeping our production local, we not only support the community but also reduce transportation emissions and ensure transparency throughout our supply chain. This allows us to closely monitor quality and sustainability standards at every step.
We also optimise our fabric usage, by only printing what is needed for every collection, having zero surplus textiles and also work to repurpose offcuts into new products whenever possible like bucket hats, scrunchies and packaging bags. This reduces the amount of textile waste generated and ensures that every piece of fabric is used thoughtfully.
Sustainability doesn’t stop with our clothes; it extends to our packaging too. We believe in keeping it simple and eco-friendly.
All our packaging is made with fabric off cuts and biodegradable materials, like our mailers made with corn starch, ensuring it’s as low-impact as possible. We avoid excess packaging, so your orders come in the simplest, most eco-conscious way.
PLASTIC FREE.
We’ve eliminated single-use plastics from our production and packaging to reduce waste and protect our oceans. You can feel good knowing that when your Green Print Collective parcel arrives, it’s in packaging that’s kind to the planet.
In Australia, around 6,000 kg of clothing is thrown every 10 minutes and 85% of new clothing purchased end up in landfills due to fast fashion. That's why, it’s vital for us to reduce the fashion footprint due to tons of thousands of clothing thrown to landfill everyday.
We want to create a positive impact by keeping clothes out of landfills and encouraging a circular approach to fashion.
RECYCLE.
Got an old Green Print Collective piece that’s seen better days? Send it back to us! We will find the best way to repurpose it, by donating it to charities in Australia, giving them a new chapter and reducing waste. It’s our way of ensuring that every piece finds its new life.
REPAIR.
I always remember the long hours my mum spent with her sewing machine repairing all our clothing to prolong its life, but now we live in a disposable age where everything is thrown away and quickly replaced for what trends. We encourage you to return your preloved garments back to our workshop to fix them for you, adding extra love. By empowering you to extend the lifespan of your clothes, we’re taking a step toward a more sustainable future together.
WE'RE 100% VEGAN
At Green Print Collective, we’re proud to be 100% vegan. From the fabrics we source to the inks we use, every part of our production process is completely free from animal-derived materials. We believe in fashion that’s kind to all living beings, so we ensure that our garments align with our values of compassion and sustainability. By choosing vegan materials, we not only reduce our environmental impact but also support a more ethical and cruelty-free approach to fashion. With us, you can feel good about what you wear—inside and out.
